Schwoebel, of Wheeling, was ordered held on a $150,000 bond.
He coaches the girls varsity soccer team and is an assistant boys coach. He does not teach at Wheeling High School, according to authorities.
Schwoebel has no record of prior criminal offenses. School officials are notifying parents, police said.
Efforts to reach school officials Tuesday were unsuccessful.
