NEWARK — A Newark man charged for allegedly having sex with his baby sitter, causing her to get pregnant, was ruled sane enough to stand trial. Denny L. McClain, 33, a registered sex offender, is facing one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a second-degree felony.
Judge Jon Spahr adopted reports this morning in Licking County Common Pleas Court that show McClain in sane enough to assist counsel in defending himself.
Authorities claim McClain is the father of an area teen’s child who was born in Aug. 2005. She reportedly was baby-sitting for McClain in 2004.
When McClain and his wife returned from the bars, his wife reportedly left McClain alone with the teen. The teen said she and McClain only had sexual intercourse once, according to court documents.
